“It Can Happen” is my favorite off 90125
I respect your talent and work ethic but there’s no way in hell I would ever want to live a life like that.
I dunno, I measure a guy by how much he submits to the Will of God, not Satan. But I’m fringe minority, I understand that.
Band of Gypsies got me High!! Years Later, I Believe his E-flat tuning was Closer to 432 Hz!! (Which would explain why it Affectively Did So..)
More stories please
When not to play definitely seems to be the hardest thing to learn.
Hello Tim! It would be interesting if you did a show about Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush! He is not only a great guitar player but he was not mainstream in the 70s. He had recorded most of his two first albums before he was 18 without any producer or engineers helping him because that was not included in his contract. Building his own pedalboard and playing thru solid state amplifier Acoustic 270 and 15"fane speakers, pls Tim highlight this most forgot and under rated supertalanted that is hero among guitar players like Joe Bonamassa, Johnny Winter, Pat Travers, Yngwie Malmsten, John Norum, Zakk Wylde, Eric Gales Vinnie Moore among many others.
Blow Bly Blow lololol
You know?
Great stories. As a Marine Trumpet player, I had the same situation where the styles of music would change gig to gig, and many times a single gig would require everything from Classical to Bebop and everything in between. I loved every minute of it. Being able to switch styles at the drop of a hat is a fantastic skill.
I love that while you do use a lot of boutique and vintage gear, you also tell us about lower cost alternatives to those pieces
All of Elliot's solos are unique.
Can't believe how many greats came from Glasgow .... would be typing for too long.
Saw a blog about " best guitar solo's " , and as much as I agreed with some , there wasn't a single blackmore solo featured . What bollocks. I love Page and Lifeson among others, but to exclude Blackmore is effn sacrilege. Amen.
The guitar on Whole Lotta Rosie is as great as anything
Apparently he has no idea how long his fingers are....his pinky is longer than my middle finger.
He’s so funky and soulful…that’s why his basic pentatonic riffs are so dam musical. I just love his playing and his down to earth nature just makes it all the better. Great dude! We love ya Angus!!!
I'm a PRS fanboy since really learning about them amd how Paul is constantly making his guitars better. Not only in Maryland but in Indonesia and Korea as well. I just played a McCarty 594 Core Model, immediately followed by playing an SE model. The sound and feel were extraordinary similar. I could tell you on a blind test which one was which, but with the price point, you can get a very, very good guitar for less than $1k
Sorry mate. Nobody cares. You’re a great musician regardless of the sessions you might have been a part of. Bon Jovi is kind of 💩
Disgusting use of click bait. I expect to see a video of one of the greatest guitarists I have ever had the privilege of watching, and instead get some random guy trying to copy it. Change your thumbnail, nobody wants to watch you imitate Gilmour
I'm busy myself because I play with usually up to 5 different bands and I teach guitar for a living at a public school. I also work on my own music and I get calls to do other gigs, but if I feel I get to busy, I try not to do as much because of being older, is this bad, and how do you handle it now, still rise to the occasion? On your level it must be easier because of the great people you work with. But family?
Jimmy knew how to fill the empty space.. he was a true master
Tim...the king🎉🎸☮️
Exactly true my brother
So modest
I watch this periodically for the fun. I’ve been in love with the album Aja since the day it was released. And this solo has always been the high point for me. Thank you Jay, Tim, Walter and Donald!
I saw AD/DC at the San Diego Sports Arena for the Highway to Hell Tour in '79. They were amazing and it turned out to be Bon Scott's last tour, 3 months later he was gone
Tim, some times changing psychology just doesn't cut it. Play guitar while your body and chronology permits it; you will have no choice but to get used to frustration and failure after age, medical condition, and pain as well as a loss of physical strength and inability to bend fingers ..... conspire to render any positive mental attitude about the guitar, one's playing, and range of music, etc. all out the window. You prodigy types talk as if playing the guitar is timeless.....it isn't.
Did Tim play the Home Depot riff?
That intro tho 🔥🔥🔥🔥
great real piece of info
Great interview with Mr Ray Parker Jr who has been doing a lot great work in music as well
Ray did so much in music for a lot of people but you also got some crooked people that won’t give you credit for songs that he wrote.
That Strat is really nice... What model is it Tim?
Ray Parker Jr is a legend
Ooh nice lydian improv
What a bloody great dude. So down to earth but plays like a friggn alien :)
I've heard that story numerous times, and why would Billy Gibbons degrade himself by allowing a smarmy CFR stooge like Dan Rather interview him?
I like Elliot Randall best.
It was a really cool time in my life.
Hell yeah. New sub 👊🎸🎸🎸
Love these stories !
I could listen to Tim’s stories and playing all day every day. That’s probably why I can’t play like Tim though…
I agree, Rabea Massad (pronounced Ra-beer - those crazy brits pronouncing an "a" as "r") is a fantastic musician. Peter Honore (aka Danish Pete) is another very talented guitarist who has worked with some interesting people.
Nerd
WOW what a brilliant video. Tim is amazing. He can do it all and explain it perfectly at the same time, while also having such a calm and pleasing demeanor. Legend.
How is that a bass guitar ? Is it a Guitar and your just playing the thich strings ?
Even watching him doing it, it still seems like it can’t come from a normal guitar! Especially those Hawaiian sounds at the start….
Thank you Tim!
